Secure Mobile Workplace with Kobra VS

With the Kobra VS data storages, a mobile and secure workstation can be booted on laptops or PCs at any location. In this context, DIGITTRADE has tested various operating systems in combination with Kobra VS to confirm the bootability, operating system independence and compatibility of these highly secure hard disks and USB sticks.

(Teutschenthal, 28.03.2023) The Kobra Stick VS and Kobra Drive VS external encrypted data storages with USB-C 3.0 connection have an integrated power supply. This enables pre-boot authentication on the laptop or PC. This allows operating systems to be stored and booted on the Kobra VS data carriers. DIGITTRADE GmbH has taken this as an opportunity to test various operating systems in combination with the Kobra VS data carriers.

"A large number of our customers successfully use the Kobra VS data carriers as a storage location for operating systems. This capability makes it possible to create a secure working environment on both stationary and mobile devices," said André Gimbut, CTO of DIGITTADE GmbH. "Therefore, we decided to test different operating systems with the Kobra VS data storages and summarize them in a list. This list is not exhaustive and only represents the operating systems we have tested. In principle, almost any software can be booted from the Kobra VS data carriers."

The Kobra VS data carriers correspond to the current state of the art and enable DSGVO-, BDSG- and VSA-compliant storage, retention, forwarding as well as secure transport of sensitive, personal and classified information up to the classification level VS-NfD (classified information - for official use only), RESTREINT UE/EU RESTRICTED and NATO RESTRICTED at authorities and companies.
